Todo list for 295A students

Please perform the following:

1. Investigation

• Come talk to me after any of my classes and discuss any project you want to do.
• Check out the Current Project List.
• More listing will be posted as the semester goes.

2. Paper work

• Do these paper work after I agree to be your advisor
• Register 295A/295B
• Signup under http://ssl.cmpe.sjsu.edu/sjsu/Courses/supervisorregistrationform.php or https://ssl.cmpe.sjsu.edu/sjsu/Courses/supervisorregistrationform.php Failure to do so before the last add date results in the student failing the class ... You must pick Richard Sinn as the advisor, otherwise, admin paper will not go through.
• If you want discussion, please come after my classes this semester.

3. Development Environment Setup

• As my students in the Master Projects, you have to setup your development environment in 4 weeks after 295A abstract is submitted. (Before we have this rule, there are students who did all development in one computer and find out the code will not deploy just weeks before 295B ends.)
• We will standardize on the tools/hosting we used to ensure amazon cloud and other technologies can be used.
• Most of projects involve web site development, use the following for web site creation:

  Email richardsinn at yahoo.com the confirmation page to proof that the dev envionment is setup	This will be your proof of setup.
  Learn online all the tools available to setup a "helloworld" web site.	Investigate into how php, mySQL and other programming env works.

4. Report

• If you have an official 295a report format, please follow the format. Otherwise, you can use these: (Technical Report Example), (Technical Report Format)
• You have to make sure you did not commit Plagiarism. Provide reference for everything in the report. Write you own report.
• Advisor is not in the business of correcting grammer for you. Have someone who writes perfect English to proof read your report or you can employ a service such as Writing Lab Edge to proof read your report for grammer mistake.

5. Misc

• Sign up http://groups.yahoo.com/group/profsinngroup/ to keep in touch, get info, etc.
