Revise Engineering of Network Protocol

Introduction

In a real life scenario, a full specification (such as an RFC) of a protocol might not be available for a developer. Thus, the developer needs to use protocol analysis as in homework 2 to revise engineering what the actual protocol is.

Assignment

• Develop the protocol specification including state diagrams and full documentation on exactly what is performed for the following two specific tasks:
  • Send an instant message (text message) in Yahoo Messenger (as in Homework 2)
  • Send an instant message (text message) in Microsoft MSN Messenger

Notes: Answers has to be in MS-word format with necessary screen shot, etc. Please handin with CD and hard copy in its own envelope.
